Prior and subsequent to the use of EMDR reprocessing, it is often critical to assist the client in control of arousal. Both CBT and EMDR affect modulation strategies wil be explored (includes practicum experience)

B. Specializd strategies for assessment and treatment of anxiety disorders: This session will explore the integration of EMDR with behavioral techniques for anxiety reduction. Areas to explore in assessment interviews will be identified to facilitate EMDR reprocessing. It will include applications of EMDR to phobias, ptsd, panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, etc.

C. EMDR Certification Groups: Led by EMDRIA approved Consultants. Limit of 8 participants in each group. These groups are for EMDR therapists who wish to earn 3 hours of group consultation toward EMDR certification. THe first hour will be didactic, including conceptualizing and individualizing treatment. Participants will then present cases that will be critiqued within the context of the 8 phases of EMDR. Please bring case to present.

In order to participate in the Certification groups you must have received your Level I and II training in an approved EMDRIA certification course. If you are not familiar with the criteria for EMDR certification, please contact EMDRIA at 512-451-5200.
